Monoliths are an easy way to introduce Garden Water Features. The Sandstone Monolith was created to blend in with Gardens that have York Stone paving or similar stone. It also complements our other Sand Stone Garden Features.

Although Sandstone is often thought of as a 'Traditional Material? even in Water Features, we can use create a Monolith that fulfils both Traditional and Contemporary in a single Water Feature with the 'Contemporary Sandstone Monolith'. By slicing the top off the Monolith to give a smooth flat surface which exposes the inside of the stone can give a great Water Feature effect.

The Sandstone Monolith can incorporate a Fountain as well if the correct pump is used. This Water Feature can be used with our Monolith Reservoir Kits which are explained below and shown in more detail under 'Water Feature Kits'

All the Monoliths have a natural Sandstone finish on the outside. The Monoliths have a 20mm hole drilled though the middle.

The Stability Of The Monoliths

It goes without saying that one very important consideration with monoliths is the stability. Our monoliths are not only chosen for their characteristics which can be seen from the pictures we email to you, but they also are selected so that we can machine a good flat base. For this particular product we strongly recommend the use of our stabilising plates which most of our customers choose to have as these give the monolith even more stability. If this is not used then we suggest that the bottom few inches is concreted in.
